we develop the highest safety standards for big wave ocean rescue

Nazaré, Portugal

NAZARÉ

Nazaré, a small village on the coast of Portugal, is home to the biggest waves in the world. As winter storms approach shores of Nazaré, an 8,000 ft deep canyon channels swell energy towards Praia Do Norte (North Beach), ultimately generating up to 100 ft waves. Surfing the giant waves involves many high risks, such as being dragged by strong current towards sharp cliff rocks and drowning by losing consciousness. Every year, the athletes’ performances and the power of the Atlantic Ocean attracts the best big wave surfers in the world along with thousands of spectators fascinated by the show.

OUR MISSION

As big wave surfing gains popularity and athletes push their limits on the water, the chances of severe injuries grow and rescue scenarios become more complex. Our mission is to mitigate the risk of an inherently dangerous sport. We are working to implement the highest safety standards with the best-trained people and state of the art technology.
